Israel have killed an estimated 186,000 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank over the last twelve months, report Lancet (medical journal), through direct murders using bombardment and shootings and through making conditions of life unlivable. Israel has expanded its killing machine and is waging war on Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and is threatening Iran.
Over three months ago, Sydney Council passed a motion to disclose their contractual ties with genocidal Israel in order to start to divest from the murderous regime.
They were the first Council in NSW to pass such a motion, but they are yet to fulfil this promise to the community.
City of Sydney for Palestine and others will rally before the Council meeting, calling on all newly elected councillors to come and address anti-war campaigners and Sydney residents.
Councils have invested in Israel companies such as Hewlett Packard and Caterpiller. HP are a surveillance company who keep political prisoner lists for Israel.
Sydney Council is overdue to disclose their ties to residents.
Ratepayers don't want to be paying for Israel’s genocide.
Come wear your kufiyyeh, bring a Palestinian or Lebanese flag and show Sydney councillors that the Palestine solidarity movement wants them to completely divest from genocidal Israel.
