About this Event
In LAMBDA Award winner Lee Lai’s latest graphic novel, Cannon, a normally stoic and unflappable restaurant worker learns to lean on a complicated friendship to rebuild after a crisis of her own making. In the near-future dystopia of Annalee Newitz’s Automatic Noodle, four robots flout authority and open an underground restaurant. Both these novels have a lot to say about resilience, identity, and making the best of a bad situation through food and friendship. Bring your appetite for inventive fiction to this lively conversation moderated by food and culture writer Soleil Ho, a founding member of Coyote Media Cooperative and co-author of The Memory of Taste. FREE, $10-15 suggested donation
