Disaster! The Musical

Disaster! is heavily inspired by the movies The Poseidon Adventure (1972), The Towering Inferno (1974), Piranha (1978), Earthquake (1974), Jaws (1975), and Airport 1975 (1974). There are elements of each within the musical, from piranhas to noisy nuns to adventurous men named Scheider. Disaster! is a type of show known as a “jukebox musical”. A jukebox musical contains popular music from a specific artist or genre. Other jukebox musicals include Mamma Mia! (the music of ABBA), & Juliet (music produced by Max Martin), and Jersey Boys (the music of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons). All of the music in Disaster! is from the 1970s. Expect hits from Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Harry Nilsson.
