Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Chivaun Oldes is a children's picture books author and illustrator. She is the owner and operator of Space to Play, an indoor playground and children’s art studio in Elk Grove. Between her two daughters, her business, her work with Elk Grove Unified School District, and leading her daughter's Girl Scout troop, she spends most of her time in the delightful company of humans under age 10. She creates stories to help children with their everyday battles and differences.
Dr. Brennan Whitley is a psychologist who specializes in neuropsychological assessment with children, teens, and adults. Her specialty is working with neurodivergent individuals who have learning, attention, social, and/or processing disabilities. She is also a children's book author who recently released her first picture book for elementary-aged children with math learning differences (i.e. dyscalculia) called The Dafoompah and Me: A Story for Children with Dyscalculia. The story is inspired both by her work with families and by her personal experience as someone with dyscalculia. Brennan has an assessment practice in Elk Grove, California (www.spring-psychology.com). She lives in Elk Grove with her husband and daughter.
