About this Event
Members of the Belfast Flavours Collective are invited to a practical, thought-provoking training session on disability awareness, accessibility and inclusion in hospitality. Co-designed with disabled people, the two-hour session highlights real experiences and practical ways to improve them.
You’ll take part in guided discussions, group activities and hear directly from disabled guests about the barriers they face and the changes that would help them enjoy eating and drinking out more often. You’ll also explore inclusive language and discover what disabled guests need to know before visiting a venue.
You’ll also have the chance to try practical exercises such as sighted guiding, using simulation spectacles, crutches and communication cards, offering a hands-on perspective on accessibility.
You’ll leave with practical tools and a clearer understanding of how small adjustments can create a genuinely inclusive experience for every guest.
This training is part of Belfast City Council’s Embrace the Inclusive Spirit inclusive tourism programme, which is delivered in partnership with Tourism NI and Visit Belfast.
