Dervish in Progress (DIP), created by Ziya Azazi, has become a global phenomenon, inspiring thousands of people across the world to connect with themselves and others through the art of contemporary whirling. As a unique dance terminology and practice, DIP bridges tradition and modernity, blending movement, self-awareness, and creative expression. With annual events across Europe and beyond, DIP continues to bring joy, inspiration, and transformation to participants of all levels. It is an honor to invite you to join the upcoming edition of DIP-MADRID, where we will meet to share this incredible journey of spinning and self-discovery.
Ziya Azazi’s Dervish in Progress (DIP) invites you to a unique workshop in Madrid, open to both beginners and advanced whirlers. Over two days, participants will explore spinning as a way to connect body, mind, and emotion. The workshop focuses on Dervish Tango, blending Sufi whirling with contemporary dance, and includes personalized guidance to help everyone grow at their own pace. It’s a chance to learn, improve, and discover the joy of movement in a supportive environment.
The heart of the workshop is Dervish Tango, where you’ll explore how to move together with others while staying connected to yourself. This practice fosters harmony, empathy, and self-awareness. Beginners will learn the basics of whirling, while advanced whirlers can deepen their skills and understanding.
