Sri Lankan-born Canadian Dinuk Wijeratne is a conductor, composer and pianist, equally at home in collaborations with symphony orchestras and string quartets, tabla players and DJs. His boundary-crossing work takes him to international venues as poles apart as the Berlin Philharmonic and the North Sea Jazz Festival.
His work Two Pop Songs on Antique Poems won both the 2016 Juno Award for Classical Composition of the Year and the 2016 East Coast Music Award for Classical Composition of the Year. For this concert, Dinuk will be joined by versatile percussionist Nick Halley and award-winning jazz bassist Tom Easley.
