The Museums of Western Colorado presents our 2024 Trips and Tours Program!
Walk in the footsteps of giants! Travel with us to scenic Moab, Utah, and find where dinosaurs once roamed. We’ll see tracks from small stalking raptors to colossal sauropods, and even stop by some petroglyphs (rock art) thousands of years old. Bring your hat, walking shoes, sunscreen and a camera for this adventure.
The minimum age for this event is 7 years old. All guests 16 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. All participants must also complete and return a before participating in our Trips and Tours Program.
Difficulty: Short hikes are involved in this expedition. Most hikes are less than 1 mile and are rated from easy to moderately strenuous.
What to Bring: Expeditioners should dress for hiking outdoors in summer: bring a wide-brimmed hat, sturdy closed-toed shoes or hiking boots, sunscreen, a camera, and bug spray. Long pants are recommended, but not required.
Please note that lunches are included with our Dinosaurs of Moab excursion. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to fill out your preferred lunch order, note any food allergies, etc.
Trip Itinerary:
8:00AM: Depart Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita, CO
Stop 1: Moab Springs Track Site
Stop 2: Poison Spider Track Site and Rock Art (Moderate to Strenuous)
Picnic Lunch at Moab Giants (included!)
Stop 3: Moab Giants Museum
Stop 4: Mill Canyon Track Ways (Easy)
5:00PM: Return to Dinosaur Journey Museum
Refund Policy:
•Cancellations prior to 30 days in advance of the expedition date will be refunded at 80% of the dig/expedition cost (total cost, less the 20% non-refundable deposit).
• Cancellations 15 days prior to the expedition date will be refunded at 50%.
• All cancellations within 15 days of the expedition date and all no-shows forfeit full price, and no refunds or credits will be issued for unused portions of the Paleontology Expeditions and Tours.
• If the Museum cancels the expedition due to weather or any other reason we will do our best to make alternate arrangements, reschedule your expedition, or refund your registration in full.
• Please note that Eventbrite's ticketing fees are only refunded under certain circumstances. Please reach out to us to learn more.
