Join us for a special night! Guests will be welcomed with thoughtfully paired drinks from Machines With Magnets (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available à la carte) and seasonal bites served family-style by Chef Julia. Make something for yourself or as a heartfelt gift ready just in time for the holidays. You’ll be guided through a hands-on claymaking session to create your own cup or mug, but feel free to play and get creative.
Born in El Salvador and raised in the U.S., chef Julia Menendez blends the flavors of her heritage with her love of modern American desserts to tell a story of culture, craft, and connection. Julia brings a background in executive pastry, with experience designing pastry menus across Providence.
Menu is as follows:
Bread and butter plate
(Sourdough, ancho chile butter, manchego cheese, tomato sardines, confit garlic)
Salad
(Cabbage salad, pickled red onion, carrot, lime vinaigrette)
Tamarind aguachile crudo (fish tbd)
(Tamarind aguachile, cucumber ribbons, pickled shallot, jalapeño, micro cilantro)
Dulce de leche flan
(Vanilla bean flan, chantilly, dulce de leche, feuilletine)
Passion fruit goat cheese cheesecake
(Biscoff crust, vanilla goat cheese cheesecake, passionfruit curd, toasted Swiss meringue)
Sweet corn tres leches
(vanilla sponge cake, sweet corn milk, diplomat cream, charred corn, butter oat corn cookie)
Each participant will receive 1 lb of white stoneware clay and step-by-step guidance to help you pinch and shape a unique piece. No clay experience is necessary — just bring your curiosity and enjoy an evening of connection, creativity, and pleasure. Michelle from Slow Bloom Ceramics and her assistants will be there to guide you through the process. We have a few options where you can make one piece or make two items, one to keep and one to gift, date night for making once piece together, etc!
