Did you grow up in a “preppy” family? Did you learn about multiple forks at Thanksgiving and countless rules of social etiquette? Was graduating from college simply the norm for everyone?
Those values served you well. But as you got older, your views changed. You still value education, good manners, fitness and maybe even an old pair of penny loafers! But at some point you discovered that your parents, tribe, religion, etc. didn’t have all the answers.
So you dug deeper, started reading different types of books, perhaps took a meditation class, or even changed careers. You didn’t go full Woodstock, but you became more open-minded, grew beyond preppy and today you’re looking to make some like-minded friends.
You’ve tried other groups, but hiking narrow paths or listening to music in a crowd hasn’t quite done the trick. What you need is a group that intentionally promotes what new friendships require: frequent meaningful conversations.
That’s where we come in.
First, we strive to bring together people with fairly similar backgrounds.
Second, each event’s announcement is linked to an interesting online article that participants review in advance, then discuss over a shared meal. Having a specific conversation topic is also a great icebreaker!
Our topics vary but appeal to open-minded men and women interested in discussing ideas and making new connections. Selected topics do not include the daily news, celebrity gossip, sports scores, religion or politics.
