
Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI) Atlanta Chapter invites guests to its most popular annual event Dinner and a Movie on Tuesday April 15 at 6:30 p.m. Held at the scenic River Landing in Roswell this year's gathering features a curated selection of short films from the Southern Foodways Alliance paired with a delicious buffet dinner prepared by renowned Avalon Catering owner and Dame Cathy Conway.
Conway's daughter Madison gave her mother the book When Southern Women Cook as a holiday gift and Conway was inspired to research the films. She has hand-selected 40 minutes of engaging short films that celebrate the stories traditions and culture of Southern women who cook. The lineup includes powerful and heartwarming films such as Helen the Legend Pupusas for Education and Mexington all showcasing animated women who connect communities and preserve culinary heritage across generations and geographies.
As always the menu will reflect and honor the diverse Southern cultures highlighted in the films bringing to life the rich tapestry of stories through beautifully prepared food.
Tickets are $75 and include dinner beer wine and soda. Seating is limited and this event is expected to sell out so guests are encouraged to reserve early.
