About this Event
Looking to sharpen your knife skills? Join Chef Matt Jones for a workshop where you'll learn safe knife handling, essential techniques, proper care, and how to choose the right knives. You'll also get hands-on practice by making a delicious autumnal soup with roasted veggies. When he’s not teaching or supporting our Makers as ANC’s Kitchen and Facilities Coordinator, Chef Matt runs his own food truck, Fifth String Food Truck, serving up tasty handhelds and poutine.
Bring your knife from home to get sharpened! During the workshop, Tony Evans from Hometown Hone will be sharpening one knife per guest while we practice our skills with Chef Matt. Please transport your knives safely!
Please be sure to wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes for working in the kitchen. Hair that is shoulder-length or longer needs to be tied back.
Parking is available in the lot on the East side of the center, as well as on the surrounding streets, Kalamazoo, Allen and Shepard.
If you have any questions about the class or would like to inquire about dietary accommodations, contact Abie Kopacz at [email protected] or 517-999-3921 before the start of class.
