About this Event
Kimchi is a fermented vegetable side dish that has been a staple in Korean cuisine for thousands of years. It is traditionally made with cabbage and/or radish in a salty and spicy mix of seasonings before being buried underground in brine to ferment over the winter. Kim Bays will be joining us in the Maker Kitchen to lead a workshop for you to learn to make kimchi at home -no need to bury your dinner in the backyard!
Please be sure to wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes for working in the kitchen. Hair that is shoulder-length or longer needs to be tied back.
Parking is available in the lot on the East side of the center, as well as on the surrounding streets, Kalamazoo, Allen and Shepard.
If you have any questions about the class or would like to inquire about dietary accommodations, contact Abie Kopacz at [email protected] or 517-999-3921 before the start of class.
