Matthew Eames - CIO Protech: 20+ years’ experience in the ICT industry, with a global perspective across multiple industries. Mathew has delivered strategy and ICT planning for a large global enterprise, but recently Mathew has focussed his career on working with and supporting local Queensland businesses, currently working as CIO for a national recruitment company. Passionate about growing ICT locally, through my involvement with the ACS as a Gold Coast chapter member and part of the ACS QLD Branch Executive committee. Mathew works to mentor students and is developing a Gold Coast Innovation group of local business leaders. His focus is on developing the ICT sector locally, to help the development of Australia being an ICT world tech leader.


Stephen Dalton - Refactor: Steve is an Electronic and Software Engineer, Entrepreneur and Gold Coast Community connector. He is founder of Gold Coast Techspace, the Gold Coast’s very own Makerspace and geek hub and Refactor, an Agile Hardware and Software consultancy.His own startup secluded.io specialises in low-power, cloud connected sensors designed for low cost and secluded environments. He regularly takes part in startup education activities such as Startup OnRamp and sits on many advisory boards as a technical expert.


Matthew Walker - City of Gold Coast Cyber Security and IT Operations: Matthew started his career as a graduate of network engineering technology from NAIT, a polytechnic institute in Alberta, Canada. A series of roles across networking, cyber security, compliance, risk management, and auditing has led to Matthew’s current role of leading the City of Gold Coast’s cyber security and IT operations teams. A recent highlight of Matthew’s time at City of Gold Coast was the cyber security preparation for the 2018 Commonwealth Games which established a permanently expanded cyber security function that continues to pursue the goal of maintaining a ‘Cyber Safe City’.”


Paul McCarty - Founder and CTO SecureStack: Paul started his IT career in the early nineties and specializes in helping teams build and deliver secure applications. He’s done it for NASA, John Deere, the US Army, Queensland government and a whole lot of other organizations. Eventually, he founded SecureStack and built a platform that lets companies identify security and availability gaps in their web applications and then FIX those issues easily without forcing their developers to become security experts. He’s also a pretty good snowboarder and a proud father of 3 amazing kids.
