About this Event

About this seminar

A sustainable smart built environment, such as a smart city, integrates advanced ICT and IoT to enhance residents' quality of life while ensuring resilience and sustainability. Digital twin technology is pivotal in driving this transformation within the construction industry, enabling smarter planning and management. This presentation outlines NTU’s research across different scales. Construction Sites: development of a smart vision-based monitoring system for safety, progress tracking, and automated reporting. University Campus: creation of a digital twin platform integrating GIS, BIM, and IoT for real-time decision-making to support sustainable campus development. City Scale: interdisciplinary efforts to develop a decision-support platform for urban transformation toward climate-proof, net-zero-carbon communities. This presentation highlights the key outcomes and experiences of these initiatives, demonstrating how digital technologies can significantly advance sustainable development in smart built environments.
