Personal information leaked in data breaches, shared on websites by data brokers, and stolen by hackers, all pose a threat to the privacy and security of public safety employees. The need to safeguard and limit the exposure of personal information is necessary to help public safety professionals and public officials protect themselves and their families.

With expanded and more detailed information, this 2-day training presentation explains in an easy to understand, non-technical manner how personally identifiable information (PII) ends up on public databases and people search websites, offers ways to help ensure the privacy of home address information, and discusses techniques to help enhance personal privacy and security for public officials.

  • Email security: preventing against email tracking, malware, and phishing
  • Computer and smart device protections
  • Techniques for privacy and security with home wi-fi networks

RESTRICTED ATTENDANCE: Attendance is restricted to current law enforcement, fire, EMS, US military, critical infrastructure, and healthcare employees.

All attendees will be subject to providing agency/employer credentials or other information as requested by the presenter to verify qualifying status. The final determination as to a registered attendee's qualifying status will be at the sole discretion of the course presenter.
