About this Event

Digital Inclusion Workshop – Building Confidence With Everyday Technology

Our Digital Inclusion Workshop is designed to help you feel more confident, capable, and secure when using everyday digital devices. Whether you're completely new to technology or simply want to broaden your skills, this friendly and practical session will guide you step‑by‑step.

This workshop provides a supportive space where carers can:

  • Ask questions without judgement
  • Build confidence step by step
  • Discover digital tools that genuinely help with daily challenges
  • Feel safer and more in control online

No technical background is needed—just bring your device, your curiosity, and any questions you might have.

Participants can explore a range of useful tools and activities, including:

  • How to use smart assistants like Alexa – from setting reminders to getting news updates and using voice commands with confidence.
  • Creating personalised e‑cards – perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or staying connected with friends and family.
  • Using technology for health and NHS-related features –exploring apps that can support your wellbeing.

Most importantly, the workshop focuses on supporting you to use your own devices—phones, iPads, tablets, laptops—so that the skills learned are practical and relevant to everyday life. We offer patient, one‑to‑one guidance to build independence, confidence, and enjoyment while using technology.

A key part of the session is dedicated to online safety and security, helping you stay protected when browsing, emailing, or using social media. With scammers increasingly targeting vulnerable groups, we place strong emphasis on recognising risks, avoiding common traps, and keeping personal information safe.

Please bring any devices you would like assistance with using. There will also be devices available to use if you don't have one of your own at the moment.
