Danny is a practicing physician with training and experience in clinical informatics, Dr. Sands has worked in a variety of capacities in the healthcare IT industry for over 25 years and is a co-founder and the chief advocacy officer of the Society for Participatory Medicine.

Prior to joining Mass General Brigham, Gaye was a venture partner at an institutional venture fund where she was an integral part of the investment team and served as board director on several portfolio companies. Prior to venture investing, Gaye was an experienced commercial and business development executive, focused mainly on developing products and strategic partnerships across several verticals: chemicals, genomics, biobased energy and biobased products. Gaye received an MBA in Finance and International Management from MIT’s Sloan School and an AB from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges.

Michael Davies, Founder and CEO,

Michael’s expertise and experience covers the spectrum of the key issues involved in high-tech businesses, particularly mobile devices and services and wireless networks, and business strategies for the digital economy. He has worked for nearly thirty years in the telecommunications and related industries with a particular focus on innovation in mobile devices, communications services and network infrastructure. His experience spans the design, development and deployment of mechanical, electrical, electronic and high-tech products; manufacturing; software coding; video; supply chain management; research and development; technology; and strategy.

Jennifer Joe, MD, Global Medical Strategy and Population Health,

At AstraZeneca, Dr. Joe is primarily responsible for supporting and developing partnerships with organizations to support the innovative delivery of healthcare. Some of her time supports accelerating clinical trials through partnerships and innovation. She has broad responsibility for chronic disease - chronic kidney disease, hypertension, obesity, diabetes, heart failure, asthma, COPD, lupus, and amyloidosis.

Amir Lahav, PhD,

Amir is a Digital Health Advisor and a Board Member who helps Pharma and Medtech companies develop and implement innovative solutions in clinical research and medicine. He sits on the Advisory Board of multiple startups and holds strategic consulting roles with pharmaceutical companies.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, Amir is on a mission to bring together the brightest minds from far-ranging disciplines to push the boundaries of AI-driven solutions in clinical research and medicine. His work is primarily focused on digitizing disease monitoring, improving patient experience and clinical trial endpoints, and using data intelligence to enable early detection of various diseases.

During his time at Pfizer, Amir led the development of digital solutions for gene therapy trials, primarily in rare diseases. Prior to pharma, Amir was a PI on numerous clinical trials as a Neurology Faculty and Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.

A practicing physician with training and experience in clinical informatics, Dr. Sands has worked in a variety of capacities in the healthcare IT industry for over 25 years and is a co-founder and the chief advocacy officer of the Society for Participatory Medicine. His digital technology career began at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he trained in medical informatics and developed and implemented innovative systems to improve clinical care delivery and patient engagement, including clinical decision support systems, an EHR, and one of the nation’s first patient portals. This was followed by leadership positions including Cisco, Zix Corporation, and others.

Dr. Sands has earned degrees from Brown University, Ohio State University, Harvard School of Public Health, and trained at Boston City Hospital and Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital. He holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School and maintains a primary care practice at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in which he makes extensive use of health IT—much of which he helped to introduce. In addition to practicing, Dr. Sands is the chief medical officer of WKD.SMRT.
