With a career spanning more than four decades, Tim Bauer is one of Australia’s most respected visual storytellers. Beginning his career in 1978 as a Cadet Press Photographer at The Sydney Morning Herald, Tim quickly rose to international recognition after winning a Rothmans International Press Award at just 21 years of age.
Following his move to London, Tim established a remarkable global career photographing international celebrities, musicians, artists and political figures, developing a signature style recognised for its honesty, depth and cinematic character. His work has appeared extensively across leading publications worldwide, including many iconic covers for the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Weekend magazine.
Throughout the evening, Tim will share insights into:
- Portraiture and visual storytelling
- Working with light and emotion
- Editorial photography techniques
- Building authentic connections with subjects
- Medium format image-making with Hasselblad
