About this Event
THIS IS AN ONLINE ZOOM CLASS
Class Description:
Trees are the largest element in our residential gardens and landscapes, and special consideration needs to be given to tree selection and placement. In Arizona, we are blessed with an environment that allows for abundant sun and warmth; however, we are also challenged with the need to create shade for more energy efficiency and comfort. Picking the right tree for the right place is essential. In this class, Maricopa County Master Gardener Katie Coates will discuss benefits of trees in our landscape for our homes and communities, as well as types and varieties of trees best suited for our Arizona residential environment.
Participants will learn:
- Understand the benefits of trees in our landscapes
- List considerations needed for tree selection and placement
- Select trees appropriate for the space and our low desert climate
- Choose trees according to need (shade, food, wildlife habitat)
- Install trees correctly and at the right time of year
