Class Description:
Salsa is one of the fastest growing condiments in America. It’s tasty, all natural, and it’s really simple to make. The vegetables in a salsa garden are among the easiest to grow: tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic and cilantro. Learn how to grow all the vegetables right in your own back yard and make your own unique home grown salsa.
Participants will learn:
- Seasons of Desert Vegetable Gardening.
- Best varieties of Salsa plants to grow in our area.
- Correct location, soil and watering for a Salsa Garden.
- Why an Arizona Salsa Garden is different from Salsa gardens elsewhere in the USA.
Presented by Master Gardener Carol Stuttard
Master Gardener Carol Stuttard is one of Arizona’s most knowledgeable gardeners. She teaches vegetable gardening extensively across the Valley for organizations such as Mesa Community College, Desert Botanical Gardens, and Valley Permaculture Alliance. Her classes are fun, entertaining, and loaded with valuable information, tips, and tricks. She manages the community garden at Scottsdale Community College and propagates tomatoes that are popular among other Master Gardeners.
