Speaker: Master Gardener Amber Hughes
Amber has loved nature since she was a little kid and had always been fascinated by animals. She wanted to be a biologist but her love of plants started in high school when she took a botany class because to avoid dissecting a frog.
She completed her BS in biology and her MS in plant biology from ASU. She’s not only a Master Gardener but also SmartScape trained. Amber worked at a high-end plant nursery for several years and is currently working on a Watershed Management certificate for her current position as a Water Conservation Coordinator. Amber started gardening with her mother and grandmother when at about 3-4 years old and has been an avid gardener since.
