Join us for an evening of fun, learning, and a little dirt under your nails!
UCONN Certified Master Gardener Paul Rossi—a lifelong dahlia grower and exhibitor—will demonstrate how to dig, divide, and store your dahlia tubers so they’re ready to thrive again next spring.
This is a hands-on workshop, so roll up your sleeves and bring:
Your own clumps if you’d like to practice dividing
Your favorite tools (pruners, knives, gloves, labels, etc.)
Your friends—and your favorite beverage or bottle of wine.
We’ll cover:
- The right way to lift and clean dahlia clumps
- How to divide tubers without damage
- Proven storage methods to keep them healthy through winter
- Tips for waking them up in spring
Bonus: If you’d like, please consider donating one tuber to help support our Farm Stand's flower offerings during the growing season. Your contribution will bloom again next season through our flower sales—which help to fund farm programs year-round.
