Born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley, Diego always found himself fascinated with the art of music and soon found himself fully engaged within his community. Growing up in a Hispanic household, he was exposed to multiple genres of music, including Corridos, Cumbia, Rock, Hip Hop, Country, Funk, and much more. Though his love for diverse music began to grow, he realized the genre that connected with him the most was none other than the Blues. The emotion, feel, and rawness of the genre were more than enough to draw him in.
Diego taught himself multiple instruments and learned to play bass guitar in his high school jazz band. After playing bass for many years, he discovered that guitar was his true love. With inspiration from Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Prince, and most importantly, his personal mentor Gary Winston, it became clear that music was what he wanted to pursue.
The 25-year-old has now played numerous clubs and festivals across the Northwest for the last 4 years. He opened for none other than Curtis Salgado and is continuing to expand his musical knowledge and network. As his obsession with music grows, so do his followers, who can see his passion for the music. ‘Dynamite Diego’ always puts on a fantastic show full of exhilarating high energy and is absolutely guaranteed to rock your night away.
