About this Event
Die Biere Deutschlands German Beer Tasting is a 2-hour guided beer tasting that showcases some of the legendary beer styles of Germany presented in the authentic biergarten setting of Lagerhaus No. 5 in Eastern Market. Lagerhaus No. 5 not only sells and serves an eclectic variety of classic European beers, but they are one of the premier German-style brewers in Michigan. As with every Michigan Brew Tours tasting, you'll be guided by a Certified Cicerone®, a recognized expert in the field of beer, who will:
- Demonstrate to guests the proper process for tasting beer.
- Give a general overview of German beer styles.
- Explain the history and significance of each particular style as it’s sampled.
- Illustrate the brewing process.
As your guide takes you through each beer sample, you'll do more than just drink beer: you'll learn about the history of each style, its ingredients, and its brewing process while you experience some of the best beer Michigan has to offer. A flight of beer samples from around Germany, a pretzel & beer cheese appetizer, a pint of your choice at the tasting's conclusion, and some exclusive Michigan Brew Tours swag are all included!
CHECK-IN: Please arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour and check in with your guide at Lagerhaus No. 5. If you are running late, please contact your Michigan Brew Tours guide at (734) 666-5036.
PARKING: The street parking near Lagerhaus and the parking lots in Eastern Market are open and free of charge.
AGE LIMIT: 21 and over ONLY, even if not drinking. You MUST show valid ID upon arrival to participate in the tasting.
TICKETING: No need to print your ticket. Arrive a few minutes early to check-in and give the guide your name and ID. That's it!

CANCELLATION: In case of severe/inclement weather, Michigan Brew Tours may have to cancel an event. We will notify guests of any cancellation at least 12 hours prior to the start of the event. Refunds will be available or you may choose to reschedule for another event. If you are unable to attend the event, tickets are transferable to another guest (age 21+) up to 24 hours prior to the event. Please contact [email protected] for details.
