Join us and work with your dog as a team, following their nose to find hidden people and dogs!These fun sessions are designed to help build the bond between dog and human, promote calmness and confidence and reduce stress in your dog as they follow the scent and engage their primary sense of smell.
Sessions are suitable for all levels, and beginners are welcome — we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
First-time handlers should also book the Introduction Session, which runs for 30 minutes before the main session. In this, you will learn the practical foundations of line-handling and how to trail. You’ll be continually coached through the main session.
A standard session is approximately two hours long and, as dogs are worked separately, is suitable for sensitive or reactive dogs. Dogs are on a lead or line at all times, so all dogs can participate without a need for recall or other obedience skills.
Sessions can run with two handlers that have completed the introduction and will do pet trails, so both dogs are out of the cars for the duration; otherwise, a minimum of three and a maximum of four teams can join.
Due to the nature of trailing, your dog won’t be working for the full two hours. During the session, you will take turns in all roles: trailing, hiding, following (when possible) and watching and waiting dogs at the cars.
If your dog struggles to settle in your car, you can bring someone along to help or get in touch and we’ll find a solution that works for you.
