This month’s Café Sci will be a look back over the history of Didcot Café Scientifique since it started in 2010. The original organiser will give an introduction about its foundation and then we will look at some of the speakers over the years – the difficult times of COVID – and the range of topics. As it is Christmas there will be the usual quiz with prizes and mince pies and mulled wine.
The topic of the quiz this year will be Oscar winning films with common themes.
The quiz will be handed out at the start, but you will have 10 minutes or so to complete after the talk has finished.
If you remember last year, we had pictures which gave the names of partnerships. For example, a picture of Diane Abbot and Elvis Costello which together gave Abbot and Costello.
It was pointed out to me afterwards by a friend that I had missed out on one brilliant combination and as a taster I’ve included pictures of them. I will give the answer on the night.
