9:30am - 10:30am - Leica - ‘Cinematic Nostalgia’ with Kristian Dowling - $10.00

Come join Leica Ambassador Kristian Dowling as he presents ‘Cinematic Nostalgia’.
Kristian will be sharing his insights into the production of cinematic portraiture; a relatively new concept where portraits are created with influences from cinema. Drawing from his experience working in Hollywood, Kristian will talk about his experience working on cinematic assignments, and the impact it’s had on his work. He will also demonstrate what is takes to plan and produce impactful images and stories that evoke feelings of cinematic nostalgia.
NB: While in town Kristian is also running " Creating Cinematic Portraits " on October 15th for $199 as a show special. This workshop is normally $550!

Canon Ambassador, Kate Cornish is a freelance cinematographer, director and photographer and has been obsessed with film since childhood. This is all about Kate sharing her thought process, how she makes creative decisions, how she approaches a project, her workflow, and how certain camera settings, camera movements and lighting styles can be used to achieve creative results.

Join landscape and astrophotographer Rob Embury for an educational session where he will discuss the importance of choosing the right lens to capture the best aspects of a scene, and the right tripod to both keep your gear steady and provide unique perspectives. He'll also talk about how you can utilise a range of drop-in square filters to manipulate light and create dramatic long-exposure images.

This Three Hour interactive session will cover; Techniques for calibrating your monitor. Colour management setup, print viewing conditions, matching screen to print (output emulation), Paper choice as well as optimizing files for printing
Whether printing on your own or using a third-party printing service, Rocco will have you confident in everything from calibrating your monitor to choosing the right paper.

Skywatcher National Sales Manager and Landscape Astrophotographer Will Godward, will be presenting on how to Image the Milky Way from South Australia. Will will discuss how to use a star tracker to achieve amazing results.

Join Sony Australia Advocate Vueey Le, as he will be demonstrating food photography in the Pullman Restaurant guiding you through various techniques to capture mouth-watering images to up your foodie game.
In this workshop, we'll be covering a few topics such as key elements to food photography, composition, focal length while experimenting with various lighting environments such as using natural light and LEDs from Nanlite.
Whether you are a blogger or photography enthusiast, this workshop will equip you with the skills and knowledge to tackle any amazing food dish that is served!

Join multi-award-winning fashion, beauty, editorial and advertising photographer Perth photographer Stef King, talk about her recent bodies of work shot with Nikon's Z9 s camera.
The exhibition comprises of two very different bodies of work all shot on the Nikon Z 9 mirrorless camera. Stef will be talking about her shoots, how they came about, and the final results.
The exhibition will be on display at the Light Gallery from 16th-26th October.

Finding the location is only half the battle, Glenn will take you through the steps of formulating the idea, budgeting, marketing, and implementing the concept to make it a reality.

From the far heights of NASA’s Space Shuttle to the depths of the North Atlantic, from ancient land turtles in the Galapagos Islands to abandoned Soviet submarine bases in the Russian Far East, traveling through 185 countries and territories, cinematographer Pieter de Vries has been there with a camera.
Pieter has contributed to programs hosted by Sir David Attenborough and has worked with director James Cameron filming the wreck of the Titanic in IMAX 3D, he has been a recipient of the Milli Award, Cinematographer of the Year , Emmys and BAFTA’s.
Learn from Pieter in this special 2hr hands on cinematography workshop, where Pieter will be sharing industry experience and tips for getting the most out of your gear.
