About this Event

Dialysis to the Docks: Kidney Wellness Series

We've partnered with Living Classrooms to create an lovely, sunset, 2-hour excursion for the CKD community. Guests can help get the boat underway from the dock, set the sails, and learn to steer a historic 1901 Chesapeake Bay Skipjack at Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park.

Whether you're a dialysis patient, CKD patient, caregiver, or just interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, there's something for everyone. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with others in the kidney community and learn valuable tips for improving your overall well-being. Per usual we'll have FREE tickets available for our dialysis and/or CKD patients (limited quantity). See you there!

Cost: $150/person; light fare & beverages will be served. For safety reasons, everyone who sails with us must be at least 9 years old.

*All ticket sales go to expanding our reach, offering FREE sailing trips to kidney disease patients in need, and sustaining our initiative.

About: During her 5 years on dialysis Vaunita Goodman (Founder) felt utterly defeated and constantly sought out programs within the kidney community as a means of coping with feelings of depression. She found none that spoke to her inner desires for adventure, affordable travel, community engagement, and appreciation for nature. Her personal story with the practice of sailing empowered her to see her life differently.
