About this Event
Forgiveness has often been a controversial subject. From its role in various religions around the world, to the effects it may have on our subjective well-being according to studies in positive psychology. Discussions often make a distinction between forgiving others and forgiving one-self. And many authors have explored the its intersection with feelings of revenge, rage, shame, blame, or accountability.
We will watch an interview with Wilma Derksen—who is a parent of a murdered child and self-identifies as a forgiveness practitioner. Afterwards, Franco will facilitate a dialogue about the role of forgiveness in the justice system.
