About this Event
The USC Center for the Political Future invites all students, faculty, and staff to an interactive workshop on civil discourse in a politically charged time. Our ability to listen, ask questions, and check our understanding of others’ views is more important than ever. But how do you do it without losing your cool? Or damaging a relationship? Or telling yourself that you’ll never discuss politics with others again? This workshop takes place on October 15 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the University Religious Center Fishbowl Room. Free dinner is provided!
Attendees will first learn the ABCs of Constructive Dialogue model and practice using active listening skills in small-group discussions. Joe Bubman, Founder and Executive Director of Urban Rural Action, will lead the session. Urban Rural Action is a national grassroots movement that brings Americans together across differences to address our country’s most urgent challenges.
Special thanks to our partners, including the USC Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, USC Student Affairs, SEIP Leadership and Education, and the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance.
