ABOUT THE EVENT
Unfortunately most of us know of someone who has been diagnosed with one of the many dementias that can occur.
The good news is that the diagnosis and treatment of dementia is rapidly changing, and The Florey’s brain research has been at the forefront of these developments.
Disease-modifying drugs is an exciting new area for dementia treatment. Up until now, we’ve only been able to improve the symptoms such as memory and cognition. But while new drugs coming onto the market are encouraging, they are not for everyone and there is plenty more being done to potentially modify and adapt effective treatment drugs.
ABOUT THE FLOREY
The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health is the largest brain research centre in the Southern Hemisphere. Across three different campuses in Parkville, North Melbourne and Heidelberg, The Florey’s mission is to make dementia preventable and treatable. Our medical researchers work to develop life-changing discoveries in this field.
This panel discussion will showcase The Florey’s world-class brain research in developments for dementia diagnosis and treatment.
