Are you at risk for diabetes? Take charge of your health and make a change! Northern Dutchess Hospital’s National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is part of the national program led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Registration for our current session is open until November 10th. Classes are held on Mondays, and you have the choice to attend at either 4:30pm or 6:00pm.
In the first 6 months we will meet weekly for an hour and learn about:
- Healthy eating without giving up all the foods you love.
- Adding physical activity into your schedule.
- Dealing with stress.
- Coping with challenges that can derail your progress.
- Getting back on track if you stray for your plan.
Over the course of the next 6 months, we continue to meet weekly, but you have the option to come twice a month. We go over strategies to stay on track and to incorporate all we have learned into a new lifestyle.
Our program has been running continuously successfully for over 10 years. The group setting is a constant support system, one in which you will feel comfortable to share ideas, struggles, goals and most of all successes. All of this is at no cost to you. All you have to do is sign up and commit.
