About this Event
Welcome to Diabetes Canada's Community Connections! Join us for an afternoon of connections, conversations, and information about diabetes. Hosted at the Saskatoon Community Foundation, this come-and-go in-person event is a fantastic opportunity to meet others in the diabetes community, share experiences, chat with a funded researcher in the field, and learn more about Diabetes Canada. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. We can't wait to see you there!
1:00pm -4:00pm Come and Go event with brief presentations to begin at 2:00pm
1:00pm: Doors open, refreshments and snacks served. Mix and mingle with people connected to diabetes including people with lived experience, a funded researcher, and D-Camps alumni.
2:00pm: Dr. Shelley Spurr will provide an overview of her Diabetes Canada funded project, Promoting health among Indigenous youth through wellness and HOPE.
2:20pm: Jacques Toupin will share his experience of living with Type 1 diabetes and how his time at D-Camps more than 50 years ago has made a lasting impact in his life.
2:30pm: Tyler Wiebe of Diabetes Canada will share his experience of living with type 1 diabetes, and provide an overview of Diabetes Canada’s focus areas and opportunities.
2:45pm – 4:00pm: Mixing and mingling resumes.
4:00pm: Farewell.
