About this Event
Cacao Ceremony for Grief and Remembrance: A Dia de Muertos Journey
In this heart-centered Cacao Ceremony, we gather to honor the spirits of our loved ones who have passed, acknowledge our grief, and celebrate life and death as part of the eternal cycle during the sacred days of Dia de Muertos.
Drawing upon the wisdom and healing power of Ixcacao, the spirit of the cacao plant, we will create a sacred space for emotional processing, remembrance, and connection.
We will begin by partaking in warm ceremonial cacao, a traditional Mayan recipe used for its heart-opening and healing properties.
As the cacao works its magic, we will journey through a guided meditation and powerful ritual to honor our ancestors and loved ones who have transitioned from this world.
In alignment with the traditions of Dia de Muertos, participants will be invited to:
- Contribute to a communal altar (ofrenda) with photos, mementos, and offerings to their loved ones, fostering a deeper sense of connection and empathy within the group.
- Receive a supportive energy healing session, addressing the emotional and energetic imprints of loss and cultivating balance within. Celebrate the lives of their loved ones and their own resilience through a closing gratitude ceremony, honoring the spirits who have joined us in this sacred space.
- By taking part in this Dia de Muertos Cacao Ceremony, participants will have the opportunity to navigate their grief journey with compassion, embrace the healing power of remembrance, and find solace in the collective strength of our community as we honor our ancestors and loved ones who have passed.
