Día de Muertos is a beautiful, ancient, pre-Hispanic Mexican tradition of celebration of life & death.Death is a natural phase of life’s cycle, and celebrating on this day the. lives of those who’ve left this realm, is a way to hold them close & keep them alive in our hearts.
An ofrenda is an altar created on the last days of October to guide the spirits back to their families & spend time together in this realm. November 1st is when the children’s souls come back & November 2nd is for the adults.
Ofrendas are decorated with flowers, candles, photos, food & drinks that the person liked.
At this time of the year, when the veils between worlds are thin, we come together to honor the spirits of lives past.
Join Lorena Quintero for an evening of movement, breath & shamanic journey guided by Mama Cacao to open our hearts in celebration & create a traditional Dia de Muertos altar.
