DHOOM: PRIDE With PARIVAR

This June, Parivar Bay Area is hosting their OFFICIAL PRIDE PARTY with DHOOM at OASIS! Parivar Bay Area is America’s only transgender-led and transgender-centering South Asian organization proudly centering culturally diverse API trans queer gender expansive identities across all nationalities, regions, religions, castes and classes. At DHOOM, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and diverse event where EVERYONE is welcome!

With additional support from our event sponsor Impulse SF, we are proud to continue our fundraising efforts. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be awarded to Queer Arts Featured – a gallery, boutique, and event space led by queer artists at the historic 575 Castro St., which once housed Harvey Milk’s Castro Camera shop. Supporting queer art is the cornerstone on which DHOOM has built its foundation!

Pre-sold tickets are for $15-20. Door Tickets available at $25.

About the cast

DJ Damaniac – He brought the house down at spring event and he’s ready to take us higher with the best desi vibes San Francisco has seen yet from behind the DJ booth and on stage with a live Dhol percussion performance

Laksha – She is a San Francisco Bay Area based emerging trans artist with over 30 years of Indian classical Dance and mixed media visual artwork experience

SNJV – An artist who uses dance, drag, and drama to showcase humanity. Infusing culture into dance and fashion, SNJV creates fire performances that will enthrall!

Ali – A self-taught belly dancer from Iraq, Ali will bring eye-catching movement all the way from Seattle for a special Bolly-Arab fusion performance.

Slut ‘The Rock’ Johnson - A drag performer and manic clown slut who was born out of Stanford’s Drag Troupe whom you are going to love to hate with their irreverent performance.

Anish - A musician who plays the violin and piano across various genres, is bringing a special and dynamic live performance to envelope your senses

Miraaj – After a terrific debut of his first single ‘Ritua’l on the Oasis stage, San Francisco based performing artist and founder of Dhoom - Miraaj - is bringing a live performance of his second single ‘Can’t Get Enough’.

Sanjay Makhijani - a San Francisco/unceded Ohlone territory-based teacher, activist, and artist will be your emcee again. Count on fun and inclusive banter coming at you from the stage

Dhaya Lakshminarayanan - A comedian, storyteller, speaker, host and actor based in San Francisco. Lakshminarayanan is a regular host of the Moth Story Slam in SF hosts Dating with Dhaya from KQED Presents. She fights for social justice and queer liberation with humor and heart

Scruffenuf - A recent re-transplant to the SF city, he may seem like a familiar face either as a former chairperson of Trikone Bay Area or as Mr. April 2020 on the Bare Chest Calendar. He will go-go dance till your heart goes dhak-dhak!

Jignesh – One of the first South Asian go-go dancers in the SF nightlife scene is bringing his sensual movement to tantalize your eyes

Geoffery McAnally – His childhood passion of learning American Sign Language (ASL) and being an advocate for Deaf community has inspired Geoffery to become an American Sign Language interpreter for the last18 years. He’ll bring his skills to the stage in the spirit of inclusivity for the disabled
