DH4 #1547 – St. Helen Spring Festivus Hash (Run/Hike)
Date: Saturday June 10 2023
Time: 4 pm
Location: Spinning Hills Middle School parking lot. 5001 Eastman Ave Dayton OH 45432.
There are two entrances to the school. Enter the "Buses only" or "Event Parking" which is nearest to Woodman Drive. We'll be at the far end of the parking lot next to the playground.
Cost: $6 for beer drinkers; otherwise $4. Free for first time hashers! Bring extra money for festival!
Hares: Dah Gimp
Hash Trail: Mostly an urban route. Medium length ~3.5 miles. There's potential music entertainment at the BN. We'll end trail at the festival to enjoy the Beer Garden food and entertainment. This is one of the largest festivals in the Dayton area!!!
Make sure you bring your ID to get into the beer garden! Being a Catholic school you can not only drink (a lot) you can also play poker and blackjack and maybe win back your hash cash. ? Or take a hash-vacation if you win the $10000 raffle!
It's a little over a quarter mile walk back to the cars. There's a short cut through the southeast corner of the school grounds to get on Granville Pl. A teenager who lives next to the fence cut through gave us permission...so it's legit ?
Dogs: Allowed on leash during trail but not sure if they are allowed on school property during the festival.
Children: Trail: Adults only for first time hashers since many of us do drink beer.
? Festival: Definitely kid friendly.
On-After: After eating and drinking at the festival there is nothing formally planned but we'll probably head off someplace afterwards.
