Program: Step into a world where leaves are more than just decoration—they’re works of art & science waiting to multiply! At this month’s Mae-Blanton/DFW Begonia Society Meeting, we’re getting our hands (gently) dirty with a hands-on propagation workshop. After a short business meeting, you can expect to--
Snip, Sprinkle, and Sprout! Learn the art of leaf and stem propagation, turning a single cutting into a thriving new plant--or even many new plantlets
Soil Secrets & Water Wisdom—discover the best methods to ensure your baby begonias root like champions
The Magic of Begonia Genetics—learn why some cuttings thrive while others sulk and sometimes shrivel
Swap & Share—bring a cutting or a few to share, if you have some.
You'll need to bring a container. We suggest something like a plastic take-out dish with a clear lid.
We will provide the substrate and have an assortment of cuttings to share, so even if you do not have a Begonia collection of your own--we will get you started on one!
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned begonia collector, you’ll leave with new skills, fresh cuttings, and maybe even a few plant-obsessed friends.
The workshop will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity for branch members and guests to socialize.
Raffle tickets are six for $5. Proceeds benefit the Mae Blanton/DFW Begonia Society.
Visitors and Guests are welcome!
