Gaza's devastating humanitarian catastrophe: a snapshot *
- 2.1 m face extreme hunger
- 67,000+ people killed, mainly women and children
- 170,000+ people injured
- 1400+ healthcare workers killed
- 39,000 orphans in Gaza
- the highest number of child amputees in the world
- 90% of Gaza's homes fully or partially destroyed
- only 19 of Gaza's 36 hospitals remain, with very limited capactiy
