About this Event
About the Film: Directed by award-winning Nepali filmmaker and journalist, Subina Shrestha, the film documents the powerful journey of Devi Khadka (a rebel guerrilla warrior, mother and sexual violence survivor) as Devi battles her own demons to mobilize a national movement to fight for justice for conflict related sexual violence (CRSV). Nepal’s leaders want to bury the shameful truth of wartime rape committed during Nepal’s Civil War. As the only public face of survivors, Devi has decided that she can no longer stay silent. Using an immersive verité style, the film captures the intimate and inspiring journey as Devi strives to bring together survivors from across the country to fight for restitution, reparation and justice for wartime rape survivors in Nepal.
