Developing the Coaching Habit
Presenter
Steven English, Steven English Coaching and Training – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Program Description
Managers leave behind many opportunities to connect and help team members focus in most conversations. At best, they get very tacit surface-level updates; at worst, they give advice that the team member does not use, and then they feel devalued by the lack of follow-through. In this course, we discuss a new way to approach the One-on-One conversation. By incorporating a Coaching framework and open-ended questions specifically tailored to these discussions, the conversation can get much deeper than just tactical updates. They will focus on the right challenges and identify the right solutions to enable the team member's development and impact.
