Plan on attending the Detroit Mass Mob LVISUNDAY, May 26 at noon at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 3138 East Canfield St. and McDougal in Detroit.
St. Elizabeth Parish in Detroit, Michigan was established in 1885 by a community of German and Belgian immigrants. The first church was a temporary structure built on land donated by Fannie Van Dyke, near McDougall and Willis. The building was dedicated on June 21, 1885, and in 1890, the parish had over 400 families, making the building inadequate. The current church, designed by Donaldson & Meier, dates to 1892 and is located one block north of the first church. The church is made of red brick and is in the Romanesque Revival style
