GIS Day is an international celebration of geographic information systems (GIS) technology. GIS is a scientific framework for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data to help us make better decisions. On GIS Day, we hope to help others learn about geography and the real-world applications of GIS through lightning presentations and GIS workshops. Detroit is a city of collaboration and in that spirit we have organized a virtual series of offerings around GIS Day coordinated by DETROITography with Wayne State University and University of Michigan.
