We cordially invite you to celebrate with us as we launch the Premier Issue of Detroit Book City Newspaper Catalog - April/May 2025.
We are ecstatic to launch this publication, adding it to our existing, small family-owned indie bookstore after being in business for 9 years.
Detroit Book City is a black-owned independent travel/pop-up bookstore that specialize & market primarily African American books, media & events for the family. We offer timely, relevant services to individual customers, non-profits, corporations and schools.
Graciously, over the years we have received awards and been featured on several news outlets including Fox 2 News, CW-50, WDIV Channel 4 Live in D and highlighted on Oprah's List and Ebony magazine as Black bookstores to shop.
Since our inception January 2016, Detroit Book City has become an important resource for Black Indie Authors to promote and sell books. We host Michigan's largest A-A Book Expo since 2017.
Detroit Book City Newspaper Catalog is a 11x14 physical newspaper and digital guide that highlights newsworthy articles, Black history, literacy resources and relevant books for the family. We're taking the old school paper and tieing it in with the internet to to give you direct access to browse and shop Black written books -- new, used and rare! We will list our 50+ distribution pick-up locations, shortly!
That's right...you can browse and shop indie books and local Black Authors w/QR codes inside our newspaper catalog ... directing you to website resources to shop.
