About this Event
Poetry-N-Motion, LLC will be presenting its first slam workshop series called Detour Slam Academy. We will be doing this from August-December with our first session being absolutely FREE to attend and open to ages 13-up. Here is the schedule for each session:
August- What is Slam: History and how it works
September- Effective Storytelling: How to write for a slam
October- The World as a Stage: Performance tips on how to bring your poem from page to stage
November- This is Chess, Not Checkers: How to strategize what poems to play during a poem
December- WE SLAM: Putting all the tips to the test and see if you can become the DSA Champ
Make sure to bring your pens/pencils, notepads, tablets, etc. for this experience. We are looking forward to building with you.
