DeTar Healthcare System is proud to announce the return of the annual Healthy Heart EXPO, taking place on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the DeTar Navarro Lobby and Registration area. This free community event is dedicated to promoting heart health through education, interactive demonstrations, and vital health screenings.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals, participate in hands-on CPR demonstrations, and receive essential health screenings. With booths covering topics from stroke education and smoking cessation to dietary tips and diabetes management, the Healthy Heart EXPO is your one-stop destination for improving cardiovascular wellness.

Highlights of the EXPO include:

Chest Pain and Stroke Awareness: Learn the signs and symptoms, and get a heart health assessment.
Hands-Only CPR Demonstrations: This demonstration will empower you to save lives.
Free Health Screenings: Including cholesterol draws, glucose testing, and blood pressure checks.
Educational Resources: Access handouts on cardiac rehabilitation, smoking cessation, and diabetes management.
Dietary Advice: Enjoy heart-healthy snack samples and collect recipes to try at home.

“The Healthy Heart EXPO is a cornerstone of our commitment to community health,” said Jolene Balboa, Director of Cardiovascular Services. “By providing education, screenings, and resources, we hope to empower individuals to take charge of their heart health and prevent cardiovascular diseases.”

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as booths will be open starting at 9:00 AM. All participants should sign in at the designated area, and tables will be set up throughout the Lobby and Registration area for easy access to all services. Door prizes and giveaways will take place during the event.
