About this Event
This workshop begins with you finding and experiencing simple foundational anatomical principles, to deepen your back bend while infusing health and vitality for a life-long practice. You will learn healthy technique for select back bends in Ashtanga’s Primary, Intermediate and Advanced Series, such as Urdhva Dharnurasana, Back-Drop and other key back bends. You will learn detailed technical break-down of the anatomical foundation and specific movement mechanics to improve your practice.Having established this, we will take a step further into more intricate back bends, finding space and support in every joint involved in extending our back and body in the classic back bends of Ashtanga Yoga. Working from the ancient yogic paradigm, that by proper understanding of our physical foundation, our bodies open up to deeper ability, increased health, insight to Self as well as potential transcendental experiences, every participant will learn sound principles which lead to movement potential we didn't think possible.All levels welcome.

Bio:
Tim Feldmann teaches Ashtanga Yoga as a practical tool to healing our body&mind, and as a means to navigate life. Tim has been practicing yoga since 1994. He is Authorized to teach directly by Pattabhi and Sharath Jois. A practitioner of the Advanced A Series, Tim finds Ashtanga’s traditional method an exceptional path towards healing, wisdom and self-realization. Drawing upon his past as an internationally successful dancer and acclaimed choreographer, anatomy, alignment and technique form an integral part of his teaching. Tim has been studying Patañjali’s Sutras, Sankhya, Vedanta and key supporting texts for more than a decade with renowned scholars in South India. He uses his palpable insights as an Ashtanga practitioner to inform his philosophical teachings. Cherished worldwide for his fun, disciplined and detailed pursuit of authentic yoga and his compassionately effective touch, Tim demonstrates how practice, study and dedication are the means to powerful transformation inside out.
