We will be evaluating our first sea turtle nest laid in Destin on Monday, August 18th at 6:45 pm. Access the beach at the Shirah St Beach Access at the intersection of Shirah St and Scenic HWY 98 in Destin. The nest will be located in front of the Crystal Dunes property. Parking is limited at the access but there is paid parking in the area and Village Christian Academy is just down the road with plenty of parking.

This is a nest evaluation being conducted 72 hours AFTER the nest has hatched. We will not be interfering with the incubation process at all. This is an assessment to determine how many eggs were laid and how many of them hatched and all of this data is reported to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
All of this work is conducted by a permitted and trained team, Destin - Fort Walton Beach Sea Turtle Patrol, under FWC Marine Turtle Permit #251.
