Hear the stories and spirit behind the exhibition Accompanied by several members of the original DM collective.12.00pm – WORKSHOP: Reigniting creative nuclear-free activism. BYO lunch or buy at the FAC café. Meet in a shady spot in the FAC gardens
Desperate Measures was a Freo-based activist street theatre group of the late1970s and early 80s. DM performed numerous satirical plays lambasting political follies –many of which are (sadly) still current.
Clever and playful, Desperate Measure’s theatricality highlighted anti-nuclear and other environmental and social justice issues – heightening momentum for the causes and generating great fun on the way.

NFWA is keen to capture this creative spirit to reignite fun and effective nuclear-free activism. After touring the inspiring DM exhibition, we’ll gather in the Arts Centre gardens to brainstorm plans for imaginative future actions.
BYO lunch and ingenious ideas!
We look forward to seeing you there (feel free to invite friends).
